Through Broken Bridges & High Water! / Cypress Hills Wedding Photographer
Kelly & Amanda you did it!! The title says it all for this couple! The day before the wedding was the 2010 flood in Maple Creek - Friday morning Kelly & Amanda didn't even know if there would be a wedding the next day since he was at the Cypress Hills Park and she was in Maple Creek. The park is only 20 minutes away from Maple Creek but the dams were swollen and creeks roaring taking out the bridges with them! But nothing could hold them back. Amanda & her parents found a way and even though they had to take a 3 hr detour time didn't matter as long as they could be together. Love is strong they say and these two more than proved that! Saturday dawned a new sunny, happy day for them both and everything was perfect in the end. As they were being married outside on the terrace at the Cypress Resort Inn the sun burst through the clouds as if to say "Oh happy day!" Luckily I made it out to the park too since they had repaired both the bridges that day but as I was going over the last one it looked pretty unstable so I drove in the middle of the road. Later to hear from one of my close friends that that bridge caved in again about 3/4 hr after I had come over it. Amanda is a very calm bride through all of this and I admire her. This will be one of the most memorable weddings I have done - the elements that surrounded it and it was a blast. The Litke's definetly know how to party:) Too much to tell I don't know where to stop so I will say thank you for including me in your special day and all the best on your new move to Rosetown!

This girl should be a model / Medicine Hat Photographer
This title says it all about Nikki! Her mom & I believe she should go into modeling since she is so good in front of the camera, slender & beautiful:) But she is going to be a lawyer and she will make a darned good one. I met Nikki at her mom's wedding last year which was a party! Since then we have become good friends. It is so awesome when that happens!! And don't you all love her hair? I will need to grow mine out a bit and then I can get my hair done up just like it. Although all of you that know me I wouldn't look near as good. Anyhow wish all the luck in the world kiddo!

On to bigger & better things / Medicine Hat Photographer
I love Taylor! As soon as I walked into his parents farmyard he gave me a big hug:) We instantly hit it off and had a great afternoon. It was like we had known each other for years - like a little brother. As you all can tell this guy is a cowboy - loves his horses and team roping! He lasted in his suit for a bit but couldn't wait to put his "good" clothes on. I like to put as much personality into my sessions as possible and I think Taylor's shone through. It was a windy, hot, sunny day but we still got great shots. There were too many good ones so I finally picked my absolute favorites. Now the rodeoing can start full time and maybe next year we will all see you team roping at the Calgary Stampede! Oh and hey your dad has an awesome John Deere tractor! lol

She's not camera shy / Medicine Hat Photographer
Miss M came into see me a while ago and she was the happiest girl ever. She let us change her clothes I think 3 times, put on a cowboy hat but as you notice she wouldn't let us leave her cowboy boots on for long. She'll have to learn I guess tho to be a barrel racer like her mom:) She watched every move I made and as soon as I picked the camera up she cheesed even more. She is adorable and can't wait to see her again in the fall!

Ryan & Becky / Maple Creek Photographer
What a beautiful day for 2 beautiful people - inside & out! There is too much to tell about this day & too many special things that happened but I will say that on both sides of the family there is definetly some REAL musical talent! I will have to put another whole blog post up here after I try and catch up with the others - it will be just music & dancing:) Everything was lush, green and wet - amazing for our part of the country. The ceremony which was to be up at their ranch in the Cypress Hills wasn't happening since all the roads were was mud but the couple & their tribe got through the mud with me to go take some beautiful photos at their future homestead. This was the week before the devastating flood in Maple Creek so enjoy the look of the hills before the water came roaring through wrecking everything in it's sight! What a wonderful day tho and Ryan you are head over heals in love X10!! Oh yes you are too Becky but I have known Ryan a long time and it is great to see him so happy & in love:) All the best in the future and with building the new house. Will see you for coffee soon at the new house.......November maybe?? If the weather cooperates!

This past month has been crazy busy with graduates, weddings & babies. This is Dakota who loves to giggle and smile! We had a great time that day in Maple Creek at the High Chapparal Rodeo Arena. Since she loves her horses and her heritage is rodeo/ranching background this was perfect. Thank you Dakota for the good time and all the best in the future!
